Default 357 & 41mag Keith Bullet load help.

I ordered and got in some 168gr true keith bullets for my 357 2 1/2" K frame and also some 230gr 41 bullets for my 4" model 57 Smith.

Does anyone have a good load for each they would like to share?

Thanks

I have loaded the 230g bullet from Leadhead, I have had very nice results with WLP primers and 18g of AA#9. Accurate, no pressure signs, stout but not abusive load. This was in a 657 Mountain Gun.

Depends on what you want to use them for. I reserve Keiths for hunting purposes since they are more expensive than the everyday 158 swc bevel base everyone sells. My knock around 357 load is 7 grs unique behind a 168/170/173 bullet. If I have a reason to think there is something out there I up it to 14grs 2400. Have to be carefull with Keiths in 357's, some guns have shorter cylinders, 27 & 28's come to mind. Been out of Keiths for so long in the 41 I don't remember, I want to same 10 grs Unique for a carry load but check that before you load any. Where are you getting your Keiths?

I had about 300 of these left the other day trying to decide what to do with them. The front driving band is so wide they will not chamber in my Freedom Arms 83 or any of my Ruger single actions. And they are too long for the Taurus Tracker and Freedom Arms 97... So I loaded them all up with 8.0 grains of Unique (target says 9 and has been corrected) which is my standard all around load...975 from a 4"...and will use them in the Smiths which fit them just fine...

This was 20 yards double action with a 6" 657....

I am starting to tired of heavy recoil and except in the Freedom Arms 84 and maybe the 8 3/8" S&Ws I plan on keeping velocities in the 950-1200 fps range... I've got 41 years of shooting on the right hand and wrist and would like to get another 20 out of them...

Bob
