Default Lee Auto Disk Powder Measure

Hello,
I have used this successfully for thousands of pistol loads. I want to know use it for my 223. I have to double up the disks I believe. Does anyone use this for rifle and how do you like it? Do you need two identical disks stacked or can they be different sizes? Does Lee provide longer screws or just go to the hardware?
Thanks in advance.
Note: I plan on using H335 in the low to mid 30's range (grains that is).

New longer screws are part of the kit. You should use the same size disks as it is the only way you can guarantee powder in or out consistently.

Never used it for rifle but the small 223 and H335 should be a good combo for it. I use BLC-(2) for my range fodder in this caliber.

I thought as long as you use the larger disk under a smaller disk then you were fine. At first thought you would think it wouldn't work, but the rotating motion fills the wider open cavity. I know the Adjustable Charge Bar works well in this same manner. You would think the large opening of the Adjustable Charge Bar under the small round opening wouldn't work well, but again the rotating motion ensures proper filling of the cavity. The ball powders work the absolute best with making all this work. But if you use a smaller cavity disk over the larger then as the powder drops you would risk powder resting on the shelf of the smaller disk not drop. But I bet small over large will work fine. I hope I'm not talking out my behind. But I really bet it will act the same as my Charge Bar.

I use the auto disk for .223. Works GREAT! As Maxbob said, if the disks are oriented correctly then you can use differing sizes in combination to get the charge you desire ( Using a combination that pairs similar size cavities is better for consistency than a teeny plus huge combo that has the same volume. Smaller over larger always to avoid a ledge within the metering chamber.

I have used the double disk kit with success as long as I follow the directions. You are correct, the larger disk is placed under the smaller and that works just fine.

Yes, the kit does supply the longer screws along with spacers for the sides so that everything is solid. (and an additional 4 disks of course)
