Default Lee dies for .223 AR applications ?

I'd appreciate input regarding any problems with use of Lee
.223 dies for AR's. I have a strictly mil-spec black rifle. I will
certainly use my Lyman case gauge to confirm critical dimensions of each round. Thanks !!

Default 223

it depends on the rifle, i have had mini 14s that would work with the lee dies and ar 15 that would work and some that would require the small base sizing die to be used.

You do not need small base dies to load for an AR-15. Lee dies will work fine.

In seven different AR's, using nothing but Lee dies, I have had no issues with ammo.

But it should be noted that the best group I ever shot at 200 yards was with ammo made on Lee dies, using Varget and a 52-grain Sierra BTHP, a shade under a half-inch for five shots. What's truly scary is that the ammo was cranked out three years earlier, and sat in an ammo can in my living room until I decided to go shoot some groups that day.

Lake City brass, Federal SR Primer, and 26.5 grains of Varget. 6X scope on a Del-Ton upper. My son nearly beat it with the same ammo twenty minutes later.

No flies on the Lee stuff, IMHO. YMMV.

As long as you use the full length sizing die set & mot the collet neck dies, no problem using them for an AR. I went w/ the RCBS X die set, I don;t want to have to trim brass often.
