Default Hornady

This is a two part thread....

I bought a new Hornady Lock-N-Load Classic press kit that came with the 500 bullet mail in rebate. Well let me tell you about their customer service. I mailed in the rebate forms on 12/1/11 and had the bullets in my hand yesterday, 12/9/11. Eight days, that has to be some kind of record!!! Very impressed!

Well I was so impressed that I decided to resize 1,000 rounds of cleaned and deprimed .40 S&W brass. That was relaxing! I believe I am going to like this reloading hobby to go with my gun shooting hobby!

Bob

I had a similar experience with my free bullet rebate. Hornady is a first-rate company.

Enjoy your new hobby. You may find in time that you enjoy loading just as much as shooting.

There seemed to be a big run on free 3031 .308 bullets last fall because it took about 3 months to get mine. No complaints however because I had plenty of fun loading 45 ACP and .223 while waiting.

I live 25 miles from the Hornady factory in Grand Island, Nebr. and was there yesterday. I asked the receptionist if they had any 45ACP rejects. She went out of her way to satisfy my request and I left there weighted down with several boxes of 230gr FMJs. I have been using their rejects for nearly 30 years and cannot tell any difference between them and their regular ones. Superb customer service.

Bragger!

Rejects are most commonly cosmetic.

You know you are a reloader when you find yourself going to the range to shoot so you have some more empty cases to reload.

I run my .40SW cases through a Redding G-Rx die before sizing them. You could buy the Lee Bulge Buster kit to work with their FCD die body if you have the Lee four die set. My point is, check the bottom around the case web (I think that's the right term) for a swaged down bulge. You have to look close, but if you find them then you have a weak spot on your case where it may rupture. Or this isn't your first rodeo and I will shut up now.

Actually this is my first time. I had bought that brass as once fired and it was cleaned and deprimed but not resized when I got it. So that is why I resized it.
