Alas, with Kommifronia banning them two years ago, the rest of the country is drying up. Think about it, Kalif is THE largest auto tire market in the USA, maybe the entire western USA combined. So if they ban lead ww, the manuf are not going to keep making them. Foreign cars banned lead ww about 7-8 yrs ago, so cheap or free ww are quickly becoming extinct. If you have a supply get them now & stack it deep, going forward, steel & zinc will be all that they put on tires.
Other sources; old roofing & plumbing lead, dental lead foil, radioavtive shielding, stain glass came, radiator shops for solder drippings, fishing & diving wts, boat keels, fork lift counter wts. There are probably a few more, but that is a bunch.
Then there is always range lead. At least w/ range lead, I know what the composition is, ww, not so much anymore. You do NOT want zinc in your alloy, it doesn't cast well & even as little as 5% can mess up an entire batch of alloy, ask me how I know. Only use e-bay if the seller is highly recommended. Many have no idea what they are doing or selling & you'll end up with zinc/lead alloy, unuseable.
