What did you shoot/reload today?
Just wondering what you fine folks loaded and or shot today.
Personally, I shot my M25 -7, 45 Colt, with the hollow point version of my Mihec 45-270SAA over 9.0gr of Unique.
How about you?
Cleaning brass now and going to reload it later!

I'm also going to make some with my alox/JPW dip lube to see if that's better, worse, or no difference. I'm thinking if this works as well as my .30-30 loads do then I may just use alox/JPW for all my cast loads. I need to make some time and cast some with the penta pins and the small round pins.

Have not been out in 3 weeks but last time I shot my model 27 with two different loads. 148 bevel base wadcutters with 3.3 grains of bullseye in 38 special brass. Also shot 125 grain jhp on top of a stiff load of W296 in .357 brass those are some flame throwers.

rain and wind
Howdy,
It is rainy and windy here today. Good day to load and eat soup.
I recently picked up a Rem. 600 in .223 (re-barreled) and am trying to make a 22-250 out of it. Loaded up 30 rounds, in ten round lots of IMR 3031, H 322, H 335.
As soon as the wind lays I'll see how they do.
Thanks
Mike

Something else, I'm currently working up .303 blanks. No real loading, just some trimming sizing and priming. I'm still researching the load.

Checked on my posting about 125 jhp and H110, thanks everyone for the help. Been looking to make some booooooming bullets for my .357, im starting to think Alliant products may be the answer. Drooled about loading bullets for awhile. Made arangements with Tony to come chronographing some time this weekend.
I have my final for accounting Thursday at 1, and profession selling at 6, so its been nothing but cramming credits, debits, and customer relationship management. Also stopped by the VA facility across the street and dropped off a Christmas card to my doctor thanking her for my life.

I have been working on 125 grain bullets in my 4 inch .357 Magnum Python for several months now. Trying to find the most accurate load and bullet combination.
So today I loaded VitaVhouri N110 and Ramshot Enforcer with all the different brands of 125 grain hollowpoints I can find. Nine different bullets total.
Off to the range tomorrow to shoot the Python, a M66-1 2 1/2 inch, and a Colt Police Positive Special 2 inch.

Yesterday, I was seduced and won over by a civilian M1917, so we got acquainted over a box of commercial .45 ACP. Needless to say, my safe is now a bit more crowded.

+1 on the VA and Lazy's service! I don't know that they've saved my life, but they have kept me going.
.35-200 RCBS in .357 Mag brass with a good dose of 2400. I still need to clock them, but getting the loading room back in shape is taking a lot of time.

Surprised that .22 was not in the list - well at least for shoot today. I reload and shoot both .38 Spl and .45 ACP; however, will still shoot more .22 than both Center Fires combined.

lazy,
Glad you are still with us and are now sharing in a hobby you helped us still have by your sacrifice! If it wasn't for folks like you, we would be speaking some other language and our Constitution would be completely defunct.
Best to you on your finals!
Jessie,
Good to hear from you. Long time no see or hear from!
This is good, keep them coming folks!
p.s. 22lr isn't on the list because you cannot reload it. That was one thought behind the "something else" category!

I'm dying on remembering the name, but someone used to offer a .22LR reloading kit. I have seen them pop up for sale. I had to ask how they work since I didn't get how you would reprime them. It had something to do with liquid you drop in an allow to dry. Neat idea but I'm sure the cost and time factor didn't make for hot and heavy sales. I also doubt it was the only kit of its kind.

Regretfully I have not reloaded anything is a while. I pastor three churches, two of which are small and one of which is decent sized and starting to grow a bit. Since October I've been very busy. Things are not likely to slow up for at least two months. If I get to do any shooting at all, it'll be with whatever factory loads I can buy. It's getting to the point that I've really started thinking about getting a progressive reloading press. That's about the only way I can figure to have a way to get enough ammo produced to have any good reloaded ammunition for shooting. Right now... I'm thinking a Hornady Lock-N-Load or a Dillon Square Deal/550. We'll have to see what can be done.

I shoot either .45 or .223 almost everyday . As soon as I get home from work I walk the dog up to my shooting range and shoot my 1911's or 3RD gens or P220's . Or I shoot hi-power style @ 100 yds with an old Armalite .

I made it through finals, cant say much for the rest of it. But after getting a few things done like fixing the car I managed to get out this afternoon. First I built a hinged chronoghraph/target comb that sits on my portable work bench, it all folds and fits in the trunk.
First it was the .45 acp, the loads you all helped me with, and bullet seating, and crimping. Thanks all for that
Bullseye, 4.7 grains is 831.9, and 860.3, for 5 grains
Some time ago I seen wear some one posted a .45+P load so I printed it out and loaded up 20 of um for testing.
The load is a 230 Sierra fmj, Hodgdon HS-6 9.2 charge at 1003 fps.
I used a Laser-cast 230 rnl with same charge, and had an average fps of 1027.9 the highest shot was 1054, and the lowest was 999.
The load says to use a heavier than normal recoil spring to prevent wear. I already have a recoil reduction system in my 1911, and found the recoil from this load to be a lot like shooting a .357. This could maybe be a really nice load with a XTP FP.
Need to go get my little guy in the shower so ill continue this later on.

Actually it was a rifle day for me as I shot 25-06, 270 Win, 308 Win, 243 and 30-06. I plan on reloading 270 win tomorrow and maybe some 25-06.
Next week I plan on loading some 45 acp and 9mm ammo for my next pistol outing.

Today I loaded some 158 gr LSWC 357s with 11.5 gr of 2400. I was impressed with the accuracy. I also loaded and shot some 44 specials in my 696 with 180 gr Hornady xtp and 7.8 gr of unique. This round is incredibly accurate and I wish it wasn't as the xtps cost a bit more than LSWC, but they seem to want to make one big clover leaf at 25 yards.

In response to the voting thread, I fired my .45 HK USP Tactical today. I am having fun getting used to the suppressor and this time of year not too many other shooters asking questions. I also shot my K-22, enjoying that little thing more and more as time goes by, now if I can just get my hands on a nice K-38 to match it.

Well, I would like to let you know that these bullets are minute of "fruit punch jug" accurate at 100 yards!
Son #2 and I were at the range last night and he was shooting his rifles on the long range so I set up over there too. Now, not every time mind you, could I hit the gallon jug at that distance using a sandbag but enough times that I didn't wanna exchange places with it! It was cool and he was impressed! (I was surprised, that's what I was! )
Fun evening anyway. Father/son time.

Shot 52 gr. Fowler match bullets out of a Sako Vixen 222 Remington and a Remington 700 in 22-250 Ackley. Sighting the rifles in to play AT&T with some coyotes.

Shot 183 rounds of 32 H&R Mag
Shot 180 rounds of 38 Special
Shot 200 rounds of 357 Mag
My busiest day at the range. All brass cleaned and prepped for future loading. Switched to revolvers to better contain the brass.

I shoot revolvers 'cause I like to shoot them more! 'Course, I shoot them better, except for my PT1911, but, hey, we should like to do what we do! Right?
