I load the XTP the same as any other 158gr JHP/JSP. Hornady shows no loads with Unique or Bullseye and it's 158 gr XTP.

Maybe I'm not understanding the question correctly but I'm looking at the Hornady manual (Page 918 of the 8th edition) and for their 158 gr HP-XTP (#35750) they list from 3.4 to 4.2 gr BE and, for Unique, 3.9 to 4.8 gr. This is for the .38 Sp. For the .357 they do not have listings for either of those powders.

You're very welcome. And btw, the max for the BE is 4.5 gr (+P) and for Unique, 5.1 gr (also +P).

The XTP 158 gr JHP works great with 4.8-5.0 grains of Unique in just about any modern S&W or Ruger I've fired the loads from.
Very accurate, even from snub nose revolvers.

Get yourself some 2400 and you'll be all set . I'm pretty set in my ways . Unique, 2400, 231 and /or Bullseye is all I need to load pistol rounds .

I've settled on W231 for all my loads, although I admit they are limited to .38 and .357. It makes life easier to simply refer to a chart for the bullet weight and not worry about which powder I have sitting on the table (but then I do belong to the SCRA...Senior Citizen Reloading Assn).

Take Nicks advice and get some 2400 for 357 loads in rifle or revolver. It will darn hard to beat. I also use it in 38 special with a 170 cast bullet.
