Default Anyone using WLP primers with H110/296 in 44 mag?

I normally use CCI magnum primers with H110/296 in my 44 mag loads, but was unable to get them today. I picked up some Winchester WLP primers that say they are for "standard or Magnum" loads. Has anyone here used them successfully with H110/296?

Yes. I keep some for my most accurate 44Mag loads that I shoot out of a carbine, although, my Wolf LP Magnum ones produce the same consistency, velocity, and are a lot cheaper!

I use the Winchester large pistol primer in most all my 44 mag loads with 296 and Unique. It works well, no problems.

I used them when I couldn't get the CCI magnum version. I couldn't tell the difference.

Winchester Large Pistol and Large Pistol Magnum primers are exactly the same, except for the packaging and the price. They're a bit warmer than most other standard LP primers.

While working up a new load with 255gr and 296 I tried both the WLP and CCI mag. Extreme spreads with the WLP were half what the CCI gave. I was surprized but pleased , the WLP are easier to find locally.

My Chrony says they run the same as CCI350's. But I did have a couple of them crack on the edge, so I use CCI350 exclusively now.

I just reverified on the WW website - when it comes to large pistol Winchester ONLY makes the LP not a LP magnum.
I believe WW uses 296 in its factory loads for the 44 mag and consequently only use their WLP as the primer. Yes, they are a bit warmer than standard LP primers.

I've loaded with Win LP and CCI LP Magnum, both shoot identical speed and accuracy. I use them for 44 Mag and 50 AE, no problems ever.

+1 on the WLP.

They do a good job no matter what the load. I am using my old
(like 20 years) stock up before moving to some new ones I picked
up before I discovered a box of several thousand I had bought
in the '90's.

I have yet to use the CCI 350's I bought pre-discovery of said box.

We built a new house 10 years ago and are still discovering
archeological gems in the basement.

I've used WLPs with H110 for years in .357 and .44 mag with great results. Very consistent. Only switched to magnum primers after starting to play with HS-6.

WLPs are all I've used for 20 years in the 44 mag/H110 recipes.

I also use them in 44 Special with Power Pistol and 2400.

44 Magnum:
26 grains of W296. A Hornady 200 grain XTP. Fed nickel cases
and a WLP primer. Works every time. I have run this recipe to
27 grains and it is accurate but I am starting to see web (base)
expansion so I backed off.
