Newbie reloading here. I have been using Hodgon Universal to load S&W40 for the last 400 rounds. I just switched to Silhouette and it seams very dirty (sandy, gritty) after fired. Gun just seems dirtier than it ever did before using Hodgon. Is this normal or has anybody else experienced this before. Hodgon seemed very clean for the most part. Thanks

Yes, have noticed what you describe. I like most Hodgon powders, have been quite happy with Titegroup for 40 cal., shoots very clean in my guns. I consider a clean shooting powder a plus when working up a load, although sometimes great powders just shoot dirty (like H110, one of my most used)

Get the pressure up. Silhouette isn't a good powder for poofter loads. You need to load it hot and it will deliver the performance.
