Default Progressive reloaders for lefties?

Went and looked at some progressive reloaders today and found out that Dillon nor Hornady make a press for lefties. This just plain sucks!!! Are there any lefties using a progressive press? If so how do you like it and do you have any problems? Don

New guy on the forum, but have been loading for 50 or so years. I grew up with a hollywood turret, and as a lefty I had no problems. I now use a Dillon rl-550B and have no problems with this either. I pull the lever and feed it brass with the dumb hand and feed it bullets with the smart hand. You've been operating right handed stuff all your life, Its not that hard!

As a lefty, I have had to adapt as all us lefties have to do. I haven't had any issues with my RL450, I suspect you won't either!

As a life long lefty I well understand your feelings and dilemma. However, as 400short well points out... us lefties have been forced to be right handed all of our lives. Oh well...

I would think that would be the best bet.

Lefty using a LNL, no problems. The right hand only operates the lever, the left does the bullet seating and case feeding. Not awkward or uncomfortable at all.

Did the same thing on my Lee Turret before the LNL, even though the Lee is reversible.

Only my Lee challenger press is set up for left handed operation. I only use it to deprime, so right hand feeds cases, left pulls lever and removes deprimed cases and tosses into tumbler.

Talking Lefties - The Only Ones In Their Right Mind ...

Lefty using a Dillon here. No more problems than when I'm using a Skil saw or playing cards.
That is to say, I turn off half my brain cells and do it right handed!

I have a Lyman turret now and I put the lever on the left side. I guess "if" I get one I will have to adapt to it. I just don't understand why they didn't make the casting where you could put the lever on either side. Don

I'm a leftie and have no problems running the machines right handed. The more delicate tasks are done left handed anyway.
Most lefties I know are able to do more with their right hand than right handed people are with their left hand. Probably due to growing up in the right handed world.

Half of what you do on a progressive press is with the left hand. I don't see what difference it makes which hand pulls the handle.

I do everything but shoot left-handed - everything I learned to do before Kindergarten like eating, writing and brushing my teeth. I'm working on the shooting part, though.

Why? The only thing you are really doing is pulling the lever. It doesn't requrie fine motor skills. The LNL will likely feel better for you as everything goes into the machine from the left side.

I have been a lefty all my life, and learn early that I live in a righted world, and must adapt and became ambidextrous. As many great people have. In the category of art, both Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo were left-handed. In the category of music, Ludwig van Beethoven, Bach, and Ravel were left-handed. In the field of science and invention, you find Benjamin Franklin, Isaac Newton, and Albert Einstiein. Not bad company.
