A few threads ago where I measured several brands of 45 cases I discovered that the batch of Privy Partizan (nny) brass had primer pockets .128" deep while all the other brands were around .118".

At the time I wondered if that was for use in open bolt sub-machine guns but now I don't think so. My newest theory is that they are using large rifle primers or at least primers of the same size as large rifle. That would be one way to reduce manufacturing inventory requirements.

Anyone have any they can confirm are .128" deep? Do any other brands you know of do that? Any other ideas?

I just measured 3 of these (PPU Headstamp) and 3 Winchester.
Prvi Partizan 0.119,0.120,0.121
Winchester 0.115,0.116,0.117
These haven't been reloaded so it was the factory primer that came out when I sized them.

True it wasn't a very big sample but I am tired. Maybe sloppy tolerances on their part with your batch.
