Default My favorite 3 gun loads

I am new here and would like to introduce myself. My most used firearms are in 5.56mm, 45ACP, an 12 Gauge. I also use 357SIG for USPSA production. (another story for later). For 5.56 I have 2 main loads and a few alternates.
For the 16 inch 1:9 with lightweight barrel set up with 1X Hollo sight, for CQB I use 55gr FMJBT, XXgr 846 bulk from supply site, WSR Set .005 off lands +0.00/-.005. I have an alternate for this gun is with 40gr vmax similar to TAP but HOT.
For 20 inch Hbar with 1:9 I use 77gr OTM Nosler, Max load of Varget, WSR, set .002 off lands +.000/-.002. My alt fo rthis is 55gr FMJBT, Max Varget, WSR set .002 off +.000/-.005.
For my 1911 I run 230 cast TC with my special alloy with 4.5gr Promo and WLP. I use these in my Glock 21 also.
I will get into other loads later on

How do you like the bulk surplus! I've thought about getting a couple jugs for mass production plinking/stockpile for SHTF stuff, but was afraid of having it degrade on me.

I only use bulk 5.45x39, I can load 5.56 and .45 pretty quickly on my progressive loader. It is lots cheaper to load and it is better ammunition.

I use HARD alloy that is only 90-91% lead 1% tin 8% antamony. I quench them in cold water right out of the mold. I have never Rockwell tested them, but guess they are 20+ Brinell. They are hard to size so that i have to use a lube that I created that has PTFEE and graphite in it. I then tumbull them in liquid alox and let cure for a few weeks. I run them @ 800-850fps. I do the same for 357SIG that I run @ 1300fps.

OPPS, SORRY
Yea I really like this powder a-lot. I have only bought 1 32# lot, so I don't know how it varries between lots. It has lots of potential in several callibers as well as several loadings. I hear it is eq to blc(2), though I have never used the later so I don't know. It isn't Varget but it does the job well in my 5.56 loads. I haven't tried itin anything heaiver than 69gr but have no doubt it will work fine. Velocities are good just a little less than Varget it measures through my meter great +/-.1 grain or less.
Accurcy is awesome and recoil is a non factor. This is important for my use (3 gun). My DOPE on my LRTI rifle scope is same as my #5561 long range precision rounds 64gr PP 26.5 gr Varget. I forget the exact charge for the 846 powder rounds. It holds 1/2MOA and under just the same. Distance tested was 100 and 250 yards. In my CAR15 they work as expeected. This is a highly modified AR15 light weight barrell 16" used in 3 gun and for home security purposes.
All in all I say go get as much #846 as you can afford. I have noticed it is not always avaible, so get it when you can.
