Default 327 Federal Magnum

I almost hijacked the 32 H&R Mag thread but decided to start a new one. Even though S&W has been slow on the uptake, I am building my own S&W K-frame in 327 Fed Mag (on a Model 66) and I would like to hear from anyone who is reloading this caliber. I am especially interested in the heavier bullets (115 gr or preferably more) as I have a 125 grain design from NOE and because I am shooting the smaller bullets through my I-frames in 32 S&W Long. Any actual data from loads you have used would be most appreciated.

I load the the 327 Federal. There is lots of data in the Lyman CAST manual. Anything over 115 gr is big for caliber in this cartridge. I have tried for over a year to get the Speer GD 115 bullets but they just do not want to sell them. I like the 100 gr XTP . There are several lead bullets available. I do not use small rifle primers.

Wow, that single loading he lists for a 125 grain lead bullet seems pretty stout! I wonder whether 5744 would perform OK if I backed off a little, say a grain or even two? Have actually tried that load yet? I'm sure it would be OK in my Ruger Black Hawk, but I don't know about anything smaller with less steel. Thanks for reminding me of that reference, though.
