I came into a couple of pounds of Herco and I need a recpie for the 357. I will be shooting the reloads out of a four inch 627. Thanks to all for your advice.
I've found Herco to be a good powder in everything I've used it in but 357 is one I haven't gotten around to yet.
There are loads for it listed in Speer #8 and #9, Sierra #3 and Hornady #1 but those are all old books with some hot recipes so you'll want to start a little lower than normal and work em up for yourself. I just tried some Herco in 9mm with a reduced load from Speer #9 which they reduced from #8 and it was still 100 fps over their figures!
Since you failed to note what bullets you intend to use I cannot comment on load data. I use HERCO for all my pistol loads, .38/.357, .40 S&W/10mm, .45 ACP, and .44 mag.
You'll find whatever loads you want here: Alliant Manuals
