Default Reloading in the heat

I'm just wondering if anyone else is reloading in the heat. I spent half my time making sure I did not sweat in the pot..lol. My timings must of been off this year and I ran low of bullets before the winter casting season. My little setup does not allow me to turn on the air or overhead fan or else I will blow the circuit...another thing to fix this winter.

Is there anyway you can plug a small table fan in without blowing a circuit? Here's some stuff you can try.

1. Place a bowl of water in the freezer or just freeze some water bottles and put them in a metal bowl/pot. Put a small fan behind that to where the fan kinda blows on you and the bowl of ice. The frozen water in a metal bowl will cool the air around it and the fan will blow it toward you. You could let it sit close to you without a fan but then it would have to be real close since the air that will be cooled would be directly around the bowl

2. Your body mainly radiates heat from the head/face, legs and hands. Hold your hands under cold water for about 30sec, this will drop your body temp a little for about an hour. Throw a baseball hat under cold water and then ring it out so it doesn't drip. This will cool your head and drop your body temp a few more degrees. You can do the same with a tshirt. Basically you want them wet but not dripping.

I wait til it's dark before thinking about it. Adding humidity to the air in FL doesn't work because it's always very high to begin with. I have a big dehumidifier in my shop that runs 24/7 to keep everything from rusting and that helps but if I start casting I have to open the rollup door and the humidity goes through the roof. Not enough insulation to A/C the building. Is it fall yet?

In my first house I installed a humidifier in the basement. While it did reomve the humidity it also made the basement unbearably hot.

When I builtt my second house I had central a/c installed and made sure I did the basement and garage also. Being retired now I spend a lot of time in my work shop, reloading room and in the garage tinkering on the motorcycle and cars. Best thing I have ever done to the house!

I understand casting is a part of reloading, but others might be confused by what you are actually doing as opposed to the thread title.

Yes, casting outdoors directly under the sun.
Keeping the pot location higher helps prevent sweat dripping into it.
Only do about 30 minutes, then back inside A/C for 20 minutes. Repeat.

You do not want to be casting indoors...

I am casting very early , "O dark thirty"of a morning or later in the evening. I just raise for the door my un cooled garage for ventalation.
My Master Caster is set on a metal stand that puts the top of the pot about eye level.
