9MM "hollow base" vs flat base
According to info I've read the hollow base bullets are supposed to be more accurate because the hollow base allows for a longer profile and I guess, more contact with the rifling. Has anyone ever compared their results using the HB's as opposed to the same bullet weight using a traditional flat base. Any other advantages or problems?

Thanks for the link. My main reason for asking is to see if using the hollow base 124gr plated bullets would be any more accurate than the standard round nose plated bullets. I just ordered 1000 of the flat base 124's and was curiouse if I would see any difference. From the link it appears that in my 9mm at least, any difference is sort of theoretical. I normally load to about 1050fps and almost all shooting is done at either 50ft or 25yrds.

I tested out the 115gr winchest FMJHB vs FMJ the longer profile HB was definitely more accurate. looked at the plated Hollow base bullets doesnt look like the base would expand on those as the winchester HB would.
124/125gr bullets are just as accurate as the 115gr FMJHB as they are the same length.

Probably more accurate, at least in some guns, due to the longer bearing surface. The 115 gr HB bullet has the same length as the usual 124 gr flat base bullet.

I've tested Berry's 124 HBFP in several 9mm and they all seemed to have tighter/smaller groups than flat based counterparts. Next order I get will be HBFP.

Thanks for the replies. I think I might buy 250 of the FB's next time I order just to try them out. The worst thing that could happen is I shoot a bunch of 'em and have fun.
