Default 32-20 revolver loads

Have a 32-20 HE made around 1902-03.
Want to shoot 90 gr Hornady HBWC for target match.
Any ideas for a load on a non-heat treated cylinder?
Have BE, unique, 231, trail Boss & many others but don't need to stress this old revolver.

Hollow base wadcutters need to be loaded to the light end of possible velocities to avoid the lower portion of the bullet, the "skirt," tearing when the bullet clears the muzzle. You get some bizarre bullet holes in your targets and accuracy goes south when they do that (often called "blowing the skirt").

While I don't see any data published for that particular bullet in .32-20, the Speer 13 manual lists starting loads of 3.0 Unique, 2.9 231 and 2.4 Bullseye as starting loads for a 98 grain cast, solid base SWC in .32-20.

It also lists data for the Speer 98grain HBWC in the .32 S&W Long cartridge (smaller cartridge case than .32-20) with starting loads of 1.6 grains Bullseye, 1.8 grains Unique and 1.7 grains 231.

Unless you already have the bullets, I'd try a solid base SWC instead. Or contact Hornaday for suggested data.
