Hello guys..Whats everybody using for the real light powder charges for the .32 long..I have a Harrell pistol measure and about 2 grains is about as low as it will go and maintain accuracy..I would like to load some 1.5-1.7 bullseye and this measure just will not do it with any accuracy..Any help would be appreciated..Trying to load for S&W 16-4 6" barrel for International Centerfire..Thanks Mark

The Lee auto disk will drop 1.6gr of Bullseye very consitently.... Don't know what die brands it will work with other then Lee, if in doubt you can buy a powder through die from the same site pretty cheap....

I load 2.0 grains of Red Dot under a Hornady 90 grain lead swc bullet.

I use one of Lee's 0.3cc powder scoops for the measure; if I am consistent with my measuring, it consistently measures out 2.0 grains of Red Dot. You could file the top of one (or several) of these cheap plastic scoops to measure various powders for light loads.

I do this, with different sized scoops, for many of my handgun loads in various calibers and powders. I mark the scoops and keep a chart of the various powders with the charges each scoop throws.

I use the Lee "Micro Disk" for loading those tiny amounts of powder in my .32 reloading.

OH, that's right. I'm using the micro disc setup with the pro auto disk measure...

RCBS "Little Dandy" has rotors available that are in this range, a 00, 0, or 1. If you get the next smaller rotor they can be drilled deeper to get the precise charge you want.

Lyman model 55 has a "hammer" on it to make sure really small loads of flake powder are consistant. The older model 50 had a cast iron powder hopper instead of plastic, but has the same adjusters and hammer. These are the measures that shooters like Harry Pope used to drop their charges. Iven

My Lee PPM threw 105 1.4gr charges of BE in a row. I did it on the lowest setting. The bullets I used were unsized/thumb lubed* Lee C309-113-F's.

This may have been a one time thing though. I haven't loaded any since then. I'll find out in a few months if I can duplicate it. I don't own a 32, and only load them when my buddy is in town.

*Thumb lube: smearing stick lube on a bullet with your thumb.

Great measure for small charges of free-flowing powders like bullseye or HP38/W231 but not as good for the larger particle powders.
Rather than trying to precisely drill out an undersized rotor, I've had more success adding fingernail polish to a slightly oversized rotor until precise charge desired is achieved.
