I use 11 grains of IMR 4227 when reloading using new brass.

I tone it down to about 9 grains for once shot brass. If I don't then the once fired brass has a hard time ejecting from the cylinder.

When reloading Jet for my T/C Contender I used 11 grains in once fired brass and have no trouble ejecting the empties.

All loads use the Hornady 40 grain Jet bullet.

It's not a super mag load, but my favorite M53 load is a 48 grain cast gas check bullet with 4.3 grains of Unique. It does 99% of everything I want out of the M53 and is accurate and pleasant.
