Probably, but a wise reloader will trim it back a bit for starters just to be sure, then ease the charge up while watching for problems.

If your comparing a JHP to a GD, most likely it will be slightly different. Are you looking at a .40 S&W load in the Speer manual? If the FP is designated a TMJ that is also code for plated, bonded and then the loads would be fairly interchangeable.
Although the Gold Dot is marketed as 'bonded' it is basically a thick plated bullet which is a little different than a jacketed counterpart. TMJ, Bonded and Plated are very similar but are not the same as Jacketed. In addition it has a long shank which may contribute to more friction. Admittedly I have used some load data interchangeably between JHP and GD's but they are in the mid-range area and I don't remember which way I went. If I were you, I'd look at several manuals or OEM web sites to get a better feel for the bullet you do have or to find one that is a close match in weight, material and shank length.

This is only one example, but while looking for a 9mm load, I noticed the 2010 Accurate load booklet shows different loads for the same powder for each of the 124gr XTP, 124gr GD, 124gr Sierra JHP and 124gr Golden Sabre bullets.... all similar JHP.
