Default Anyone loading 180gr LRNFP for their 4"?

I just picked up a box of Missouri bullets called 357 strikers. 180gr hardcast RNFP.

Found this online:
Quote:
I recommend 2400 powder. Start with 10.5 grs and the max should be about 12 grs. A firm crimp on the bullet is recommended along with a standard small pistol primer

was wondering if anyone was loading these and what the results were out of a 4" barrel?

Thanks in advance

Ok since nobody responded here is what I found yesterday. A lot of people were loading 12.5 so I started at 12.2:

S/W Model 19-5 4"
Alliant 2400
COAL: 1.590
Missouri Bullet 180Gr Stryker Hardcast Lead RNFP
Federal Small pistol primer

12.2 gr
high/low 1,246 fps - 1,221 fps
avg 1,235 fps @ 610 flbf

Then I moved up

12.5 gr Federal Small pistol Primer
high/low 1,271 fps - 1,254 fps
avg 1,259 fps @ 633 flbf

Not even close to Buffalo Bore's claimed 1375 fps out of a 4" L frame.

They both dropped 2-3" @ 50 yards and a good foot at 100 yards. Good groupings at 25 and 50. Hitting hog sized targets at 100. I am happy.

I have a few other powders I think I am going to try: LilGun, H110, and IMR-4227

Anyone want to give their real world experiences?

I have a good quantity of 180 gr. cast and jacketed bullets loaded up with Winchester 296. At the time I didn't have much use for the 296 I had on hand and I basically wanted to get rid of it, so I loaded a bunch of 180 gr. .357 Magnum. I'll have to check and see if I ever shot any of this over the chrono, but I still think 2400 is the better powder. I bought some more 2400 three weeks ago and I was surprised at how cheap and available it was. My suggestion is that you just stick with the 2400, as it's probably the best powder for the .357 Magnum.

Thanks. That has been my favorite powder to date.
