Default Winchester Powder (WSF)

Does any one use WSF in hand gun loads ?
I'm just starting to load hand gun ammo and
I have some of this powder (I use it for shotshell loading)
I am going to start to load 9mm with 115 grain FMJ.
Does anyone have a good recipe for this load with WSF.
thanks

Hodgdon loading data for WSF are free online:
http://data.hodgdon.com/main_menu.asp

The load I have used is right in the middle of the data.

Recommend you use the data as listed. COL need not be exact to the thousandth in any load unless you are pushing max pressures, which my load does not. Even a hundreth off is not critical in a moderate load, although many beginners obsess about COL.
By the way, COL only applies literally for the exact bullet listed, not for just any 115gr bullet you decide to use. So when you change to a different bullet, the COL, pressure and speed will change. That's why long-time loaders have chronographs.

I use it for loading 124 gr. and 147 gr. jacketed bullets in 9mm. It is also a great powder for full power loads in 40 S&W. Good data on Hodgdon's website.

I like WSF and prefer it for 40 S&W, but for 9mm I've have best luck with 147 and 135 gr bullets (I don't even load for 115, so can't help you there). I certainly would try it with 115 gr if I shot them, but as another said, just check the Hodgdon web site to see what they offer. BTW 1.169 is max OAL and I really think you'll have better luck loading shorter, just lighten your load a bit. FWIW, my closest manual shows an OAL for FMJ/TMJ of 1.135 and a start load of 5.0 for WSF.

5.2 gr of WSF with the Sierra 115gr FMJ is a hardball duplication load.

in both 115 Berrys and 124 Rem JHP I found 5.0 to be an accurate load at around 1050fps from 4" bbls. I used 1.125" oal
