LEE customer service

Just a plug for LEE service. I have a rifle powder drop tube that I bought some time ago. Never used it as I drop powder for rifles with a RCBS . Anyway I wanted to load some Cowboy loads for 30-30 with Unique, thought I would try the Pro disc with drop tube, It would not adjust right and it crushed the case mouth. I wrote LEE, The tech knew what is was, the tube had been redesigned(shorter inside shoulder) Had a new one in a few days. Works perfect! No charge

I also stuck a 223 case, in a fit of haste and anger I could not remove it on the press so I took it to the bench vise and pretty much bent the rod and screwed up the threads (supposed to use a punch, not a hammer)

I sent it in, explained what I did, asked how much to fix.?? As I clearly screwed it up.

Nothing, Sent me a new resizing die.

NO BS and it's Red.

A lot of years ago Lee was not so liberal with their CS replacing damaged parts but that has clearly changed. I have had excellent CS from Lee, RCBS and a few others except for Lyman.

Well I do manage to let them know how much of their equipment I have which may help a bit. Like about every handgun die set and turrets to go with.

When I contacted Lee for a solution to my .355" bullets being looser than I prefer in many .38 Super cases the fellow I spoke with was great.

He was very easy to deal with, meaning he listened to me. He then offered sensible solutions based on my description.

Lee and Hornady have both quickly replaced decapping assemblies which I admitted were damaged by a piece of Berdan primer brass slipping through.

RCBS recently sent me several replacement parts for my 22 year old, very well used hand priming tool. I contacted them via email, explained what was worn out and offered to pay for the parts. Three weeks later I had all the parts for free.

Wouldn't it be nice if major appliance manufacturers treated their customers like this.

Not only is Dillon the "best" they even make everyone else better. What did we do without them? All kidding aside, Dillon does make an excellent product, however, they do price them accordingly. I happen to have Hornady LnL AP and it is also an excellent machine, for substantially less dollars, with excellent CS. We are all most certainly happy with our set ups, it just mystifies me as to why the Dillon people not only have to tell everyone how good they are, they insist on bashing the others.

I first got into reloading on a Lee Turret press. Very good press, and a great value, which is what Lee is all about. They are the best value-play in reloading.

One day, I was running into a newby issue, and called the Lee CS number. It was after hours, but a guy answered the phone anyway. He introduced himself as 'John,' and proceeded to help me out of my jam. He was very helpful, patient, and accommodating. Turns out it was John Lee, the President of the company.

I've got nothing but good things to say about Lee CS, good folks.

When I got into a progressive machine, I ended up going with the Hornady LnL, and have no regrets at all; great equipment and service. I didn't go with the Lee progressive because I just read too many things regarding how finicky their progressive machine can be. But, again, the turret was very good, and so is the CS., IMO.

BTW, I didn't get a Dillon because, after reading a bunch of reviews and forum-based commentary, it seemed like you really were not getting anything out of a Dillon, that you were not getting with the Hornady LnL; just more money for the machine and caliber set-ups. I am very OK with spending more money for an advantage/quality, but I am convinced that Dillon did not provide that over the LnL. In fact, I found a few features of the LnL preferable to the Dillon setup. I have not regretted this decision.

Dillon is the clear market leader (they sell a whole lot more machines than Hornady), so you will always get many more favorable accounts from the Dillon crew, it's a numbers thing... But, all the folks that have Hornady, rave about their equipment, and customer service. You are never going to have more people raving about Hornady, compared to the number of Dillon fans. That being said, some day I'm going to pull the trigger on a 650, just to have one of each!

Friday it snowed here pretty bad. Slick and slippery and the novices got themselves into a heap of trouble. Not me though. I called my boss and told him that I was driving my POV that day. A Ford Super Duty F250 with a 6.0L diesel and 4 wheel drive!
And what made the day even better was, that on the way to work, I was able to help a guy out of the ditch that another guy couldn't get out!

Oh, and, they were both driving Obama Goobermint Motors vehicles...CHEVY'S!

I've got no problem with that, not one! In fact, sounds like a plan to me!

Of course, I am not rich by any stretch of the imagination BUT, I do have a skill that by the Grace of God has kept me working nonstop for the last 35 years so......There are times, and especially now that the 5 kids are gone, that there is a bit of extra cash to spend on reloading stuff!

Diesel is already over $4/gal and is pretty stable there. I have some stuff to do to this to get it to get the kind of mileage it should. The tech's say I should be getting 17mpg in town with no load and better than that on the road. Not seeing that yet so......Might be too pampered and needs a good "blowing out". I'm just the guy to do it too!

Yes, to a point. Going to work on a few other things first. The truck belonged to a "real" rich guy that had it as he summer house, NOT cottage, HOUSE, and that was all he drove it in 7 years, 21,000 miles. A diesel doesn't like that either. It needs to be worked. So, a few things need the kinks worked out of them. Maybe a trip to Oklahoma is in order. Something @ 75mph or so!

Reminds me of when I was a kid. My parents always bought cars with big block engines and they had high compression back then. Of course Mom drove it like a Lady. In High School when I borrowed their cars I had to punch them out to get all the carbon out! It really did. They ran much better. We used to open up those 4 bbl carbs and pour cleaner through them, Black smoke all down the street.

It seems all the reloading companies have stride to have great coustomer service. I've called Lee, RCBS and Dillon. Can't say enough Kudos for them.

I had a problem with a Lee die about 40 years ago. They replaced it for free. Again about 20 years ago, and again about 5 years ago. Same good service.

Before the net I used to write letters. I have copies of personal replies from both Mr. Richard Lee and his son John.

Maybe Lee is the one to keep up with.

I broke three handles on the older LEE hand held primer and they sent me three new handles free of charge. I did purchase the new stronger LEE hand held primer just because they back there products. I been upgrading from the single ram presses to all the LEE progressive pro 1000 presses for all my handgun calibers, the LEE master reloader progressive press for 308win and there turret press for my larger calibers.

I hope to have 3 of the LEE pro 1000 presses set up for;

1 for 45acp
1 for 41mag, 44 special, 44mag, 45long colt (large pistol primers)
1 for 38 special & 357mag (small pistol primers)

The LEE master reloader is for;
308 win
30-06
7mm mauser
8mm mauser
6,5mm swede
223rem
7,62x39 russian

The LEE turret press is for;

444 marlin
303 britt
7,65 arg
7,62x54r

I picked up 14 pro 1,000 die plates and now i need the shell holders for the change overs. The LEE pro 1000 speeds up reloading so much faster. I do 3k to 6k of 45acp at a clip.

I been adding reloading stuff year by year because i knew the new ammo & low prices wouldn't last for ever.

We ran about 6k of 308win though the LEE $8 RGB 308win dies with no problem. This low cost of the lee dies got me hooked in the beginning of going with the lee products. The other reloading manufacturers have higher prices for some reason. I have lots of RCBS reloading equipment from the 70's that wasn't so cheap back then.

In January I bought a Lee die set from Cabelas, I set it up. The de-primer was a diffent caliber.

They went up $4 at Cabela since I bought it, and I scrathed the die. Took awile, but I finnally got it exchanged.

So check to make sure you got the right dies.
