Default LED Lighting for the Press - What Do You Have ?

I need some light to see a little better while using the press. I have a clamp light (one for reading a book) but the LED is not bright enough.

I have been looking at this one on-line (picture below) and also looking on Wal-Marts web site for one.

I would like one that plugs into the wall receptacle (120v/12v) if possible.

If not I will have to spend the money on the one pictured below.

Thanks,
Jim

If you have an Ikea near you, get this lamp for $10.

Much brighter than the $1 Harbor Freight 9 LED flashlight:

I run three Dillon 550s set up for 9mm, 38sp and 45acp.

I have them set up in a back yard building with shop lights over them.

the only one I have issues with seeing the powder is the taller case 38 because I am using a fast burning low powder charge.

I bought two LED lights designed for presses and they are affixed underneath the frame next to the die block housing.

I was disappointed that the height of the case still does not allow powder verification with the light placements. they would need to be right over the die pointing down.

the only die that will allow that is the seating die (if it has a hole) prior to placement of the slug.

I can see everything better on this press except for the powder charge which is why I bought the light in the first place.

I should have went to IKEA!

here are some images when I first installed these lights. They are good lights and worth the money I spent, but when doing taller cases, they will not let you look in!

the maker of these lights said he would custom make me a single LED to fit into my seat die insert. I have just been dealing with it. I would need to send him my dies. maybe in my off season (starting Oct), if I can remember.

next time I am in IKEA, I will buy me that $10 light. I will drill the hole in the seat die insert much larger and position that light over the hole and see if it works.

on the fourth pic down, you can see the top of the seat die insert. That hole may get drilled sooner!!!!!!!!

I could not recall the name....but inline is who made my lights. again...worth every cent....but did not work for me. I never followed up with the single LED that he wanted to try.

He is very easy to work with.

Thanks. I see he is developing a sky light for the LNL.

LED LIGHTING SYSTEMS

I like the pigtail feature to add lights, can just stretch the aux light to the other press.

Default Thanks for the reminder

When I'm making out my reloading shopping list I need to remember that my existing lighting is barely adequate.

I have an illuminated 5 diopter magnifier on an articulated arm. In the position shown, I can see inside the cases on the Dillon or swing it around to the other side for use with the Hornady SS press (bench corner not shown). When I'm not reloading it resides under the cabinet for general bench lighting. $50 at Office Max.

You can get this, plus a smaller one, for $9 at Harbor Freight.
Twist it anywhere you want it.

I have the Harbor Freight flex led light and it works pretty well on my Lee CLassic 4 hole turret. (price is right)

I got the Inline Fabrication LED for my 2 SDB's and they are great! You won't be disappointed.

Thank you, I have a dealer not to far from me & I didn't even know they were a Hornady dealer. Big R Western outfit, a place for ranchers to get equipment. We will see if they have to order it. I think two will be enough.

Thanks,
Jim

This is the Inline Fabrication 6-LED strip on a Hornady LNL. My understanding is that Hornady now sells virtually the same thing.

Angling the top of the strip like I did points the top light straight into your case so you can visually check every one before seating a bullet.
