Brinell Hardness
Doe anyone know what the Brinell hardness number is for .22 rimfire lead ?

I`ve never seen any 22 rimfire lead over 8bhn after cleaning & pouring it into ingots. Alot is softer .

All Ive tested has been very soft, almost a comtaminent when mixed with other range scrap.

VERY soft lead... If you are getting at why .22LR bullets don't lead the barrel at well over 1200 fps, bullet fit. They fit the barrel correctly so they don't lead the barrel.

From cast boolits the newer rimfire is harder than it used to be. The range is from, 6 to about 10 or 12 BHN

I can see the HYPER velocity ,lite weight 22s being harder, but I`m not sorting !!
