Default 44spl/mag hp's

Well, been at it again. Made up some bullets for the snub nosed 44spl.

They are nothing more than range scrap lead & free picked up 40s&w cases.
The bullet is .429" & weighs 225gr with a round hp and a penta point hp.

They ought to be the cat's meow in the 624,629 & contender where I can put the heat/speed to them with some good old fashioned 2400.

I don't own/shoot a 40s&w so I use the empty cases for 1/2 jackets to make jacketed bullets.

What your looking at is a bullet only.

I cut the 40s&w cases down to 1/2", put a lead core in them & swage the
them into a bullet for the 44spl/mag. Hense a .429" bullet weighing 225gr.

No their not, I have/own/use the 503 clone myself. They wouldn't fit inside a 40s&w case (.430 503 compared to the .401 inside dia of the 40s&w case).

The bullets/cores I used are the Mihec's 359640 & the swaging die has a swc nose/tip. The cores will swage down (shrinking the hp) as they expand to fill the 40s&w case (.359 vs .401).

The 503's are on the left & the 359640's on the right. If you look at the top of the 3 bullets in the center you'll see that the cast bullets have a larger meplat & penta point.

The side view shows the size/length difference in the 3 bullets & again the nose is wider on the 503 (left) & the 359640 (right) is shorter.
