Default Good .45 cal 220 Cast bullet loads

Came by some 220 grain cast .45cal bullets and want to load up some 25 yard target loads for the 1955-45 using Bullseye.

Any good starter loads out there?

Was thinking somewhere around 3.5-3.8 grains for a starter load - any favorites?

Take a look at Lyman's 49th edition and use the loads for the 225 gr. bullet. What you're quoting my be a bit low.

I load 4 grs. of Bullseye with the 225 gr. cast roundnose and the Keith 235 gr. in my 25-2 with excellent accuracy.

5 grains matches the original military spec loading for 230 gr. This is due in part to this being the exact loading the military originally used.

I think 5 grains of Bullseye is even good on cornflakes...

I use 4.0 titegroup with good results in 45 acp revolvers, around 700-750 fps.

I just put together 200 of them with 4.3 WST after trying a few different loads.

These were 10 of the wrinkled rejects just to see how bad they are...

about 800fps from a 5"
