Same as any other gun except you can't as you don't have the barrel!

I have shot several hundred reloaded rounds through my .40 shield without failures to feed or eject. I ran a hundred factory rounds (box of 165 and 180 gr) through it first then loaded both 165 and 180 gr plated bullets to match factory OAL length. You should of course begin with published start loads and work up but for reference I have found that 4.2 gr HP38 is very soft recoil and very accurate out of the shield.

Hope this helps

4.2 HP38 is also what I'm using . I set it up for my M&P FS 9, but also works fine in my Shield.
