Default 500 Loads with Rainier Bullets

Does anyone have any loads for the 500 S&W using 335 gr. Rainier plated bullets and Lil' Gun powder?

No data, but I know you want to keep it slow. Also be careful with your crimp. I generally stick with copper jacketed bullets with my magnum loads because of the fact that plated lead bullets are so finicky when it come to crimping, and they are notorious for jacket separation at higher speeds.

Little Gun is a funny acting powder. In much smaller cartridges I've blown out case sidewalls at well below listed max loads. Same has happened to a friend of mine. We both have sworn off loading it in metallic cartridges, and reserve it for the shot shells it was intended for. Ivan

Default Plated Bullet loads

I have never tried the Rainiers but I shoot the Berry's plated all the time.
I use Power Pistol powder though as I have a 4" gun or should I say three inch plus comp and believe me a stout load of Power pistol and a 350 grain bullet is plenty for me !!
I am really happy with the load though and I just use starting point in one of my reloading books but Power Pistol is so flashy that it seems like more then it is power wise.
I still find it a hoot at my local indoor range.
It would seem to me that Lil" gun would be a rather poor match for a plated bullet as they are designed to go slower speeds , not high velocity.

Thanks for the replies. I just got off the phone with one of the fine folks at Rainier Ballistics and he indicated that a load of 37-42 gr of Lil' Gun behind their bullets in the 500 S&W is a good moderate target load. He shoots it in his 500. I will give it a try. He also indicated that he developed their 50 cal bullets for Alexander Arms for the 50 Beowulf. AA uses Lil' Gun and Rainier Bullets in their factory loads.
