Default Reloading for 9mm shield

Starline does not recommend reloaging 9mm for the shield.
What brass can be reloaded for the shield?

This is from the starline web site **NOT RECOMMENDED FOR USE IN S&W SHIELD PISTOLS DUE TO POORLY SUPPORTED CHAMBER CONDITION**

Thanks

You can reload for it just fine like any other 9mm. Just do not load any real heavy +P loads. I have spoken with and e mail Starline and have loaded for my own Shield. It is all discussed in this thread.

It's not the brass it is the chamber of the barrel. Starline makes 9mm brass for other big name companies.

I have since tested with other brands of factory +P ammo and found no bulging.

S&W 9mm Shields have unsupported chamber?

A lot depends on when folks got their Shield. Some of the early ones had more of a undercut in the barrel where the feed ramp is. Their are other threads out there on the issue and SW is aware of the issue.

I have a call tag/RMA for mine but decided not to send it in.

Again, it is not the brass. It's the dimensions, specs of the barrel, chamber. It makes the guns reliable and able to feed any ammo. Much like the Glocks and why they are so reliable.
