357 brass is really scarce in this area. My guess is people are hoarding it.

I have been watching the site for awhile. I assumed they were selling it to fast. You are saying, they are not selling enough to make it all the time? ***???
I don't care for the idea, of having to pay, and wait for them to get enough.

I expect that like most other component vendors Starline won't charge you for your order until it actually ships, all you do by giving them your CC info is put yourself in line for the next run of cases. Personally, I'll be placing my order when I get home from work tonight.

As 'funny' as this statement may sound to some - there's more than a grain of truth to it.
Walmart gets a shipment its published at multiple forums/blogs - and bingo, its gone. Whether they needed it or not; they buy it.
Its difficult for manufacturers to 'keep up' when its advertised around the country when a outlet receives merchandise. Just my $0.02!

Out of stock/ no back-orders now
Now their sight says out of stock no back orders, that did not take long. Not trying to propagate the hoarding, I have no brass and need some to load. I could not find it anywhere, why not go to the source itself, I was waiting for awhile for Starline to allow back-orders.

I wouldn't have thought 357 brass is such a commodity. I would have figured something like 38 super would be harder to find from Starline since I don't think it's as popular.

Is this "backorder" thing a result of the government taxing businesses on their "inventory"? A quick browse of the web will show a lot of suppliers listing many items as "backorder only". Just wonderin'

Xtreme has 500 case packs of primed .357 magnum in stock. Alternately, you could buy factory loaded Perfecta at Wally World, and end up with once fired for about the same cost, if you subtract the cost of components you would have used to load it, and the cost of 500 primers from the primed brass. The Perfecta is made in Italy, and I have had good luck with the brass. Not saying it is as good as, or better than Starline, but I've been satisfied with it.

You do realize this thread is almost 2.5 years old, right? Starline is no longer backordered on .357 Magnum brass and it's been available for a long time now.

A little off topic perhaps but don't overlook Fiocchi ammo and brass. Several years ago, I purchased five boxes of their 148-grain HBWC factory loads in .38 Special simply because it was cheaper to buy 50 loaded shells for $20 than brass and the components to load my own. Those 250 cases have been loaded 11 times so far and are still perfect. I also have purchased their .357 ammo; it is equally inexpensive and the brass is equally good. MidwayUSA sells it.

Good to know it holds up, brass wise. I have a 250 box of Fiocchi 45 ACP. Haven't tried it yet.

The Perfecta at Wally World is several dollars a box less than $20. It is supposedly made by Fiocchi. The only definitive thing I can say about that is that they are marked as made in Italy on the box.
