Las Vegas maybe. I wouldn't count on it in NYC.

I doubt you will find a rental BP gun. You may want to start internet shopping and consider buying one once you are here. A new pistol with all supplies would be $325-500. You could use it during your USA visit and then ship it back home depending upon where you live. Israel and other middle eastern countries may have tight restrictions on importation. You will also need to find an outdoor range to shoot or private land here outside of most city limits. You will most likely be turned away at all indoor ranges. Finding an outdoor range within a 45 minute drive of Las Vegas should be easy. Forget NYC.
If you can't take it home, have someone here in the states sell it for you when you leave. NO permits or license needed for purchase in 95% of the USA. They can be bought through the mail here or bought over the counter with no waiting. If one of your destinations is a friends or relatives house, you could buy it and have it delivered there before you arrive.

You can look at various models at Cabelas website. Most are replicas of mid to late 1800s. Most of the rifle are the modern type for hunting. But there are a few flint lock rifles out there.
Using a black powder gun is not as easy as smokeless guns with cartridges. It may be best to have someone show you how or read up alot before trying.
Black powder needs to be cleaned with in a few hours, or it will eat away at the gun. I wonder how they were treated in the old days. Did they clean and oil them every time, or were they corroded up?

Contact these guys Black Powder Silhouette and explain your situation. I wouldn't be surprised if they could get you all set up to do what you want. What is your country of origin? I'm going to guess Israel.

I'd get a gun......
If you are interested, I'd get a gun. I ran into some guys shooting BP once, that really did it on the cheap, even using TP for wadding. They said they could shoot all day for a few bucks. Maybe a few more bucks at today's prices.
Something I'd say about BP shooting is that you don't 'spray and pray'.

Google National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association - NMLRA. Contact them and let them know what you have in mind and they may be able to put you in touch with a member or club in the area that you will be in that could line something up for you. Best of luck!

O.G.
I know it probably isn't any help, but if your trip brings you into the Salt Lake City area I would be happy to take you shooting. I have both rifles and revolvers.

There is an indoor range in Reno that lets people shoot all sorts of rifles and pistols from single shot to full auto, .22 to 50 cal.
There may be a indoor range in Vegas that does the same..............?
Good luck with that.

I believe they had a saying, "the sun never sets on a dirty gun" or something to that effect. Yes, you were supposed to clean each time it was shot. By the condition of many vintage black powder arms (not replicas, but originals), it seems that there were a bunch of "slackers."

Hope you get a chance to shoot a muzzleloader. With all the suggestions offered I think you stand a good chance of getting something arranged.
