Default Lead Bullet Trap

Never casted before, but I'm becoming more interested with the insane scarcity of factory bullets available for reload after Sandy Hook, especially with the lack of good lead bullets like the FBI 38 load cast available. I almost never leave my property to shoot, and with that in mind, I figure if I'm going to cast and shoot up here I might as well find an efficient way of capturing lead and reusing it. I was wondering if anyone else has done this, heard of it, and could help. Thank you.

A lot of people use sand and sift through it, now and then.
You'll need a front end loader or something similar (like a bobcat), to pick up the sand/lead and dump it into a sifter. It's kind of like a mining operation.

If you want to go smaller, you can make a wood box to whatever dimensions you so desire (as long as it is about 24" deep, from the target face) and fill it with rubber landscape mulch. You still have to sort through all the mulch for your lead - but it will be in there - and not dirty.

Google "bullet trap", there are a lot of how to plans online, or you could buy one. (saves sifting through sand) https://www.google.com/search?q=bullet+trap+plans&client=firefox-a&hs=Nyl&rls=org.mozilla:en-USfficial&channel=sb&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=27d3U7agFY3xoASq_IHYAw&ved=0CCcQsAQ&biw=1920&bih=946
