.41 Magnum Load
Hi:
Looking for Recommendations for a .41 Magnum load using a 210grain SWC cast bullet in the 900fps range.

I have used 5.0-Red Dot, 6.0-231 and 5.6 of Trailboss. All are with the RCBS 210 SWC cast from #2 Lyman. They are plesant to shoot nd easy on your brass. The above are starting loads that have worked well for me.

Favorite around here seems to be 7.0 - 8.0grs of Unique . 7.5grs of SR7625 is a nice accurate soft shooting load in the same neighborhood also .

One of the most accurate 210swc loads I have ever tried is 6.5 of Trailboss under an S-N-S casting SWC. Very clean shooting and accurate in every 41 mag I have ever shot them in. Should be right around 915fps.

I shoot a lot of commercial 210SWC bullets over 6.5 gr. of Red Dot. Makes 950 fps from my 4 inch 57 and a model 58. Dean

I have two un-open cans of "Blue Dot'. Is this suitable for .41 Magnum loads ?
All my reloading stuff is still packed somewhere in this cluttered house from moving from Tennessee back to Florida.

I believe Alliant used to have Blue Dot recipes but for some reason does NOT recommend it for use with the 41 magnum. They have a warning posted on their website: http://www.alliantpowder.com/getting...y_notices.aspx

No , as mentioned Alliant says to NOT use it. But of course people do cause they always have and their Father did and his Father did just as they shoot lead in Glocks. They don't wear seat belts either.
So use at your own risk It has pressure spikes or something.
Blue Dot is just Flaming Dirt anyway

41Mag LSWC
The lightest B-D load I've used in the 41Mag is 12.6gr. with a 210 JHP, which is about ~1050fps, but it would be a little faster with the LSWC. For lighter loads I've always used faster powders like Unique or Green Dot, since it's a slower powder. You know what Alliant says.

I've shot 10.7 gr of Blue Dot under a 210 commercial cast SWC. Get 950 fps from a model 58 and a 4" 57. Dean
