more info
I didn't want to go into all this upfront. I originally just wanted to find out if Alliant has shipped any powders since their transition.
so, here's why I ask
In Alliants FAQ's, they state they are currently experiencing a high demand for their products and they continue to work 7 days a week, making multiple daily shipments to meet the current demand and deliver quality products to our customers. They go on to say they remain committed to serving all of their customers.
ATK lost the contract to operate the Radford Army Ammunition Plant in Radford, VA. a few years ago.
They way I understand it, not only did they make the nitrocellulose and nitroglycerine ingredients for smokeless powder used globally in all kind of munitions, Alliant also made many of their commercial products there.
The recent canisters of powder (2400 & Bullseye) that I have found, have dates of May 2013 on them and still show Alliant's address as Radford, VA.
I understand that there are still business transitions going on, "new guy in", "old guy out", but as is normal in government contracts, transitions happen - no big deal, it just takes some time.
So--------------- has anyone seen any of that powder that goes out daily?, any since January 1, 2014, or are there some supply related issues too?
or is the Alliant powder shortage all due to hoarders?
Why haven't they just said there are ongoing transitions, and that they are replacing the nitrocellulose plant which is under construction with expected completion late in 2016.
search ATK, BAE SYSTEMS, RADFORD ARMY AMMUNITIONS PLANT

About a month ago, I picked up a pound of Reloder-15 and AR-Comp dated 01/23/14 and 01/24/14 respectively, but with a Radford, VA address.
The labels were probably pre-printed.

I would think there may be a few extra cans and bottles that were already made and in storage to be used........
I noticed some have "Slap on sticky labels" that peel off and some have printing on the actual container.
I have a 16oz plastic jug in front of me that is "Clean" and the only markings are on the bottom that call out ... HOPE 15 and a recycle (?) 2 marking.
later.

Thanks for checking.....but, both Reloder and AR-Comp are produced in Sweden by Bofors for Alliant.

In April of 2014 I bought 1 lb of Bullseye at the LGS. Not expecting a "yes" I flippantly asked if he had any Bullseye. To my surprise he said he'd just received a shipment and had 4 lbs left. I was delighted to score a pound having not seen any at all for too long.
The bottle has a date code of 021114 (stamped on, not a sticky label) and the Radford VA address.

Badquaker and krogen
That's excellent news, I read Alliant was working on a deal with BAE Systems to continue producing some powders at Radford. Sounds like they worked something out.

I think all my Alliant bottles have a stick on date. They're from 2011,2012 and 2013. I've been hoping to see 2014.
I have been finding 2400 and Bullseye recently but it has older dates.
There has been a lot of happening at Radford the past 3 years. The 2014 date at Radford on double based powders means the issues / problems are getting resolved.

I just wish I had some Unique and 2400, regardless of the date on the container.
There is none in Texas.

Alliant Powder
The (2) one pounds bottles of Power Pistol I recently got were made in Mar-2014 but the recent (2) one pound bottles of 2400 were made in Jun-2013 & Aug-2013. All dates were printed on the labels, no stickers.
