Question Lyman 358156 Hollow Point

All-
I recently picked up a 358156 HP mold and am wondering about load data. I've yet to cast any bullets w/this mold, so I don't know just what they're going to weigh, though I'm fairly certain they will be less than a non-hollowpoint . My thinking is that I can start with regular 358156 data & set up the chronograph to get a better feel for what's going on. I'm fairly certain that I'll be able to go a bit heavier on the powder w/ the lighter bullet, but I want to start way low as this is uncharted territory for me.

I'll probably be using Unique in .38 SPCL and more than likely 2400 in .357 Mag. I know this is a rather simple question, but it is my first HP mold and I'm rather fond of my eyes & hands Thanks in advance for any replies

slow down there sport, you'll shoot your eye out.
Ive bored many a hollow point mold, and will tell you, whether the point is hollow, flat, or ridiculous, they all top out within .3 grains of each-other. Use Lymans standard data.

Nay I say.

To the OP, pick up a Lyman Cast Bullets handbook either the 3rd or 4th edition. Go over to the castboolits website and look for a copy of the Fryxell handbook.

Right now you need to be more concerned with actually finding lead.

The 358156 HP is my favorite bullet for loading my 38/44 HD and Outdoorsman N frames. I use 11.5 to 12 grs of 2400 in sound 38Spl cases. Comes out of my 5 to 6 inchers around 1150fps.
I use it with and without the gas check and see no noticeable difference in leading or accuracy.

Thanks for the replies guys. I already have Lyman's Cast Bullet Handbook, (current edition & the previous), so I have data, just wondered if the HP was going to make a big enough difference. I also have lead, (never enough), what I don't have is nice weather anytime I have enough time to break out the foundry . I also picked up another one that should be fun, 358425. Thanks again
