Just saw this posted from Powder Valley. IMR is realeasing 3 new powders: IMR4166, IMR4451, and IMR7977. Here is the website link: imrpowder.com/press.html It appears that they are all intended for rifle applications.

Powder Valley has some 1# & 8# jugs of the new IMR4166 in-stock, if you enjoy trying new powders.

I just started reloading 308 last month, just got some 30 06 dies for playing with this winter and have 7mm Rem mag dies on my list.

Soooo, I have to get all 3 powders?:eek:

well, two of them.
I think its 4166 that might be a little too fast for your stuff.
happy hunting, and hope you find some to play with

66 & 51 are kissing cousins to 4064 and 4350 for what
I use in the 270 and 30-06, just looking at their data.

Can't wait to see how it does in test when used in the days ahead.

I live in northern Colorado and powders are still very difficult to find in this area, at least at a price near normal retail. It bothers me that companies come out with new products when they cannot keep up with current products. So now we have 3 new unavailable powders available or would that be 3 new available powders that are unavailable......or something to that affect.....

From the IMR "News" section... "...sophisticated extruded powders that are loaded with more features than any other brand of powder available today."
So... new and improved. Better than anything else. But, you can't actually buy it. The folks at IMR have attended the same marketing school with the folks from Microsoft and Apple.

No, actually that is three new powders being made, packaged
and stored...............

while we are all waiting for the old line of products that we use
to be made, packaged and shipped at some point, to dealers
where we might be able to buy it, before it is sold out.

Don't you just love it !!

4166 is already available at at least 2 stores on the internet

4166 is for .223 type loads so should work in 308 too. it's imr version of copper fouling reducer.
