Powder burn rate vs barrel length
Has anyone tried or tested different burn rates to gain velocity out of < 3 barrel with the same bullet and also keep pressure within range.

weve had some lengthy discussions about it.
2 inch or 24 inch .. same powders pretty much do the same things

Regardless of bbl length, the slower powders produce highest vel with lowest pressures. You do pay for that with more blast & flash. Medium burners will get you within about 75fps with less fuss, but vel will be lower.

fredj is correct. Powder burning rate is not dependent on barrel length in any way. Whatever powder is shown in the loading tables as giving the highest velocity will give the highest velocity in all barrel lengths, especially true for handgun length barrels!
Speer has in the past published the results of testing the same loads in various barrel lengths and this is exactly what their published data shows. It was published in their #8 or #9 manuals, and probably others too.
