Are the Federal Match pistol primers just as easy to ignite as their standard primers ?

Yes, just as easy. They're made with the identical same components, they are just made to tighter tolerances.

Thanks. I'm looking for Federal SPP because they fire 100% of the time in my Glocks that I have installed lighter springs but all I can find is the match primers.

The match primers seem to have softer cups than the standard ones which works well in guns with lighter springs. I have used them in all of the popular calibers and they work great. You do have the potential to crush them if the primer pocket has even a slight crimp remaining. I have some older WW .40 cases that have narrow pockets and I crushed a few primers but other than that no problems.

I have a 357 Marlin rifle with a scope I used to test loads & primers & could tell no difference in accuracy with the Federal match-standard primers but some military 38 & 9mm cases have a tighter crimp like Yorkie Man said. I like the Match primers for a soft pistol load but I cant tell you why. I keep looking for the edge.

Primers are the only component that I don't stick to a specific Brand or sku number with. I'll use any of he 4 major brands (Federal, Winchester, Remington CCI) as long as they are the proper size and type for what I am loading. I usually buy what I can get at the time for a somewhat fair price.

It's quite rare to have a bad batch in any of the 4 major brands, and I've not noticed any major game changing difference between them. The only ones I try not to overly stock up on are the Winchester's solely because I don't like the brass color. They work just fine, but I do prefer the Nickeled look. That said, if they are on sale for a great price, I deal with it!

I de-primed a lot of mixed brass the other night and found that
the Remington and Winchesters pockets were a little dirtier
than the other cases......... the inside of the case was ok, though.

The Federal cases were cleaner in both the primer pocket and
the inside of the case but there was no way of telling if the quality primer was used.

Note;
The Tulammo case took a lot more pressure to get into my die
for some odd reason........ ( brass )
