Bumpity bump bump, bumpity bump bump, Black Friday is on the way.
Here's a great deal of help for those thinking about getting into reloading and making their purchases soon.
And again, kudos to novalty. Great job! Well done, sir, well done!

Reloading
I started in 1977 and have loaded since then. Now up to 20+ metallic cartridges and four gauges of shotguns.
I likely have not saved money, but I shot a lot more for the same amount.
My press, scales, trimmers and dies are long paid for.
And I really enjoy reloading.

I got my wife interested in shooting a few years ago and it turned out to be an easy sell to her about reloading. Long run saving a bit of money and short term lots more range time. Currently we are acquiring our equipment a bit at a time. Got a single stage press from an uncle years ago so that helped with the startup cost. It's a Pacific Super Deluxe, old as dirt but it works. Kinda like me, lol. Figure single stage is a good starting point until I can get a progressive. Looking at doing 9mm and 45 for starters. Thanks for all the great info and I look forward to hearing more from everyone here.

A couple of points....
Common pistol ammo is fairly(?) cheap. Get off the common path and the price goes up extraordinarily quick.
Reloading rifle bullets can save all kinds of money. Especially if you don't need expensive hunting bullets.....
Now, the really important reasons:
Stock up on components and be much more shortage resistant. You can take advantage of deals over time.
You can make ANYTHING you want. From bunnie poots to barn burners in any style of bullet.
It's interesting and FUN!

One of the best post of the year. Honest and with good advice. Sticky yes problem solving is to do over the internet very hard no one shows all the hick-ups or how to solve them.

Most certainly!
I'm going to bump this one occasionally, for the guys who are thinking about reloading, those who are new to reloading, and the rest of us as well. It's probably the single best thread I've ever read on the subject.
I hope member Novalty is doing well.

Newly Married, starting college, two jobs, traded a few tons of house coal for a Mod 10-5,holster and ammo. Picked up the ABCs of Reloading and I devoured that book multiple times. I never knew you could make your own. That book brought joy to my life and I still have it, the Mod 10 and holster. Got an education that allows me to work one job. Wife ..... is like reloading sometimes you get bad loads. But you evidently find the perfect one. ABC of Reloading is Required Reading.

Great informational thread! A great way to save is to buy in quantity. Friends and I buy in quantity, 5000 primers, bayou bullets case price free shipping, deals on 8lb.of powder can be had. Great way to save.
