The scale on the left end of the beam is usually believed to be 1/10 gr. increment variation, but doesn't usually work out that way. Simply use the center mark as the zero point and just accept that above and below that point indicate heavier or lighter than set weight.
The way to find out is when you weigh a bullet or charge simply note where the beam index is and move the 1/10 gr. poise until the beam moves one gradation and note hoe many 1/10 the poise was moved. You will see that it is probably really 2-3/10 gr. per graduation.
