Can't find any exact data for the bullet, but using the Hodgson load calculator, it's calling for between 4.3 to 4.9 grains of IMR 7625 under a 124 grain BERB HBRN TP bullet. It's calling for a COL of 1.150, but that's gotta be maximum COL, right?

I plan to load 6 rounds each of 4.4-4.7 grains. I wanna avoid maximum loads and if all 3 of my guns cycle on 4.4, that's what I'm gonna load. Maybe 4.5. Just looking to punch paper.

Most data calls for an OAL with the 124gr RN style bullets (Ball)
to be at ................ 1.165 " for NATO loads.

Your magazine is one way to test the Maximum for your weapon be it right or wrong.
I have loaded 124gr RN at 1.16" in a 4" XD9 and received good accuracy but this length
will also rob you of some velocity.

1.14" OAL does better in my 3" and 3.5" 9mm's, with added fps.

I did match a factory 124gr FMJ from Augila with a OAL of just 1.12" and 4.5grs of ball powder
but I did not have the same accuracy.

I have never used that imr powder.....sorry, no info for you.

but the Speer Factory 124gr Gold Dot JHP is at 1.123" +/-

The Lee manual has SR7625 with a 125gr lead bullet at 3.6 to 4.1 gr. The OAL is 1.125 but no mention of the bullet profile. The manual has copper plated data for 124gr bullets but no 7625 mentioned. I have had good success using high end lead data and low end jacketed data with the plated bullets. As long as you aren't driving the plated bullets over 1200 fps they should work okay. That's what the plated manufacturers recommend. High end lead data through mid range jacketed data.

There is no mention of that combo in the Lyman 49th or the Hornady manual either.

The max for 9mm luger is 1.169". The one you are getting from Hodgdon is likely the OAL they tested the load at, and possibly the minimum OAL for that combo.

You will find SR 7625 to be a very soft shooting powder.

Just last week, shooting a 639, a load of 5 grains with a 115 Rainier hollow point the cases were just landing almost in my open bag on the bench.

We have done this before and light loads will not cycle my Beretta 92FS.

Well, I used 7625 in my Beretta 92fs, Ruger SR9, and Ruger LC9-S. Loaded rounds from 4.5 grains to 4.9 grains. 9 rounds of each weight, so three rounds each from each gun. All fired and ejected in all three guns. So for that bullet, I settled on 4.7 grains and they all functioned fine. Bullet was a 115 grain Hornady XTP hollow point.

I can't comment on your powder. But, I have loaded at lot of Xtreme 124gn RN. I've used OAL from 1.130 to 1.150 in .005 steps. All have worked, just fine. I really haven't decided on which OAL I like most, within that range. I think that if I go much longer, I will start having problems getting the rounds into the mags.

At least as I understand it. My load data also shows 1.169" as max and 1.120" as minimum. Any shorter and you're reducing the chamber volume under the bullet too much - which dramatically increases pressure.

Personally I like to go with erring on the longer side - because it will generate lower-pressures. I shoot for somewhere in the 1.150"+ range. Well under max, but no where near min either.
