Default Things must be getting better

I went by the LGS around the corner to use the range. Stopped by the reloading section out of curiosity on the way in. They had Titegroup, 800x, and Trailboss on the shelf. Not just a pound or two either.

I'm good for pistol powder for now, but thought about picking up a bottle of Trailboss. Not sure how much better it would be than the HP-38 I have a decent amount of right now. I may wait until I can get a better price on it, but it's on my list of powders to try.

High. A little over $30 for the TG and 800. $22 for the TB.

But they did have it.

I've heard that Palmetto State had gotten in a bunch of powder. Their rifle powder is priced much lower. Don't know if they currently have pistol powder in stock. Heck of a drive, if you aren't going that way anyway.

My nephew is an airline pilot. He was in a big box store in Pasco Washington a few days ago and he said they were absolutely loaded with pistol powders. He was frustrated because he couldn't take any back with him to Denver!

When there is at least a # of everything on the shelf, then things will be getting better. Not yet.

Realize that Trail Boss comes in 9 ounce bottles which makes it pretty expensive (about $39/pound at those prices).

For lite loads, Titewad, Clays and even 700X is a better bargain. If you're an Alliant fan then Clay Dot, e3 and Red Dot will do about as well for low velocity loads with respectable pressures.

Trail Boss gives you that safety factor of not being able to overload a case with too much powder, it simply won't let you.

Me, I prefer using a cheaper fast burning powder and simply make sure I don't double charge.
