Default Unicorn sighting

I have been reloading for about 3 1/2 years and components have obviously been difficult to find. By checking the local guns stores often, I have been able to stock up with enough to keep me going for a while. Today I stopped by a privately owned store and saw the shelves stocked with 4 & 8 lb kegs of W231, 8 lb HP38, Autocomp, Unique, etc. I just stood there and stared for a minute or so. W231 and HP38 were mythical powders until today! Sure is good to finally see things improving.

It just took longer for the freight wagon to get to Idaho.

I would like to see a few 8 lb. jugs of 2400 before I die. I probably have a better chance of seeing a unicorn. Larry

Meh, I bought 2 one pound bottles of HP38 earlier this year. Full disclosure, I haven't seen any since, but then I haven't really been looking. I'm good on powder for a while.

If I see some Universal, I might be tempted, however.

I stopped at a gunshop local to my range today. Not many pistol powders and none that I use.

The nice sales clerk asked what I was looking for - I told him W231 - he said that they haven't seen that in years.

He went on to say that they are getting a bunch of CFE Pistol - that I should try that and added that they are getting Unique and HP-38 - but that HP-38 doesn't sell too well!

I guess I'm stopping back on Friday!
