Thinking of trading a .357 in on a 625 PC.

I was wondering if anyone has tried plated, Hy-Tech or powder coated bullets in their 625 PC with the broach cut rifling. I have about 2,000 plated & coated SWCs on hand so I would like to know what to expect before I go ahead with the trade.

The coated bullets work fine in my .45 auto, so I can use them there if necessary, but it would be great if they worked in the revolver too.

Any other tips or tendencies in the big wheel gun?

My own 625-8 was an accurate and graceful digester of many recipes. I actually couldn't discern the difference in group size between the best examples of either lead or jacketed. I found loads that were virtually identical whether fired from the 1911 or the 625.

One of the best groups I ever got was some cast coated hex-nosed Round nose 230 gr I got from a forum member. Oddly, it didn't feed well in my 1911s.

Doubt there will be much trouble finding something that will satisfy your needs.
While I preferred RNL in my 1911s, and didn't use many SWC, they did well enough in the 625.
