I have been experimenting with a old Lyman wadcutters in my
25. Mould is # 454-309, cast soft with 10:1 lead/tin, sized to
.454. I bought a bunch of powder at auction, all sealed cans.
Got several pounds of Win. 630, now obsolete. Found load in a
old manual. Bullet is 237gr over 12gr of W-630, WiN LP. This
load is extremely accurate out of my 83/8" 25. Book says this
puts out 750 fps. Not a good load for long range but killer at
50'. You can light a cigarette waiting for it to make it to 100yd
gong! I'm sure load could be duped with Unique, but it gives me
a load to use up the Win 630.

I have used 6.7 of WW 231 with a 240 LRN with good results in 4 to 6 inch single actions. it is also on the slow train, but has made up for it upon arrival. Ivan

In nearly every recipe I use with revolver 45 acp cast lead, velocity of 725fps give or take 25, has most often been the most accurate.
