Default L'il Gun Powder

I happened to acquire a large amount of L'il Gun powder and just wondering. Have read and heard that it is kinda hard on handguns with "flame cutting" or whatever. I have used it a bit in the Hornet,,,great velocity and accurate. Is there any info on how hard it might be on bores as I can use it in the 44 carbines and handguns of course. Are the rumors about flame cutting badly based on fact or fiction? The price was right as they say so I bought it. If problematic I may not want to use it. It cost 5 dollars a pound ...yeh I'm cheap!

Wow, what a deal.

I've used it in various Magnum loadings and have never experienced flame cutting with it. Then again, I don't shoot hundreds of rounds of it.

heard similar, and know that this stuff is a rather flashy powder.
That may contribute to cutting, not sure though, guess you'll get to tell us about it.

LOL! Yeah, I guess so. I had some of this before I used in the l'il gun..the 410 bore. I got a bunch of powder in an estate buy. The lady had opened 25 lbs of powder and filled 'em with water. Dangerous ya know??!! Had to take it with all the stuff. Drained all the ball powders. Dried 'em. Tested the l'il Gun after drying in the 410 and it suffered no ill consequences from the water. Statistically the same vels as the new stuff. I was amazed. Never tried the other ball powders. L'il Gun is a really good 410 powder
