Default $1.80 worth of Dimes

I recently saw one of those retro- history shows on cable TV. They were disproving that Billy the Kid killed a guy with a load
of dimes. I don't know if Billy actually did this, but I can tell you
that about anything that you load up in a "Black Powder" shot
shell is going to be blasted out. That is not the case with modern
smokeless powder. Without proper compression things like dimes
Will not have much velocity. If you have tried you hand at buck
or slugs you know what I mean. Me and grandson loaded one
with dimes and FFG, using old BP hammer gun we shot at a
Piece of 3/4 plywood. Most of dimes penetrated ply, except 3
that hit flat ways. Grandson was happy with test results until
he found out we used his Ice Cream money!

Dabbled with similar concepts.
I would not want to be in front of it, but I would rather be behind something else.
A pair of 50 cal round balls cast onto a length of stainless trolling line is stuff of nightmares. Had seen the aftermath of one such special collection round ... Neither half of the yote ...... well .... ya get the point.

I have head that those bolo (bola?) rounds are pretty nasty.

Haven't done any shotgun loading except for my 20ga Pedersoli Howdah Pistol. Only used bird, buck, and .61 cal round balls in it.
BP is fun.

Yes sir, they are when the planets align properly.
If the ball both hit apart from each other, and the line don't snap, it's a straight razor in effect.
But, it's not a consistent performer. If one follows the other in line, it's no better than a slug. Same with a line snap.
They can also get a little squirrelly en route.
