A question about bullet feeders

Just wondering. I tried bullet feeders and was not really enamored with them..mainly because they won't work well with cast bullets. I never tried them after powder coating though. After heating the bullets they are pretty smooth and shiny of course...and with no bullet lube should (maybe) feed through a MBF or the like. Has anyone tried powder coated bullets in a bullet feeder? Just wondering. Let me know how they worked

I've never used a bullet feeder. I always figured with the extra time it took to load the bullet feeder I could by placing a bullet during the loading process..... but that's just me.

My bullet feeder works perfectly, it came with my hand. I don't think I'd be interested in mechanical bullet feeder unless I shot hundreds of rounds each week.
In pistol calibers I usually load 3-400 at a time on target and practice loads and 50-100 on hunting loads, for rifle I rarely load more than 40-100 at a time, except maybe in Rem 223, those I might load 3-400 in a batch. At those quantities I'll stay with using my fingers, besides, that way I know every bullet goes in straight.

Well I just dumped a box in the collator and let it do it's job. I think Lee and MBF make a stand alone tube type feeder I was just wondering if the powder coated bullets worked in the automatic bullet feeders

For me it wasn't that the bullet feeders worked so much faster.. the did set the bullets straighter than by hand and in a quicker manner..Did it make for better ammo? Don't know...but it may make a difference with rifle loads for certain.

My right hand is running the press handle. My left hand is placing bullets on top of cases for seating. If I had a bullet feeder, my left hand would be idle I guess. I can't imagine that having a bullet feeder, unlike my case feeder, would speed things up any so I never bothered to get one.

The bullet feeder I had(MBF) was actually faster than hand setting them..but I didn't run the press any faster. It worked fine with jacketed bullets. I didn't load them all that often.
