Default Triple Lock ammo - reload or factory?

I've just found my holy grail about two weeks ago, a pristine 6.5" blue Triple Lock in 44 special (serial # 134XX shipped from S&W in 1917!) that looks so good, the guys at the range begged me not to shoot it! But I did as guns are meant for shooting. I shot factory 246 grain and 200 or 210 factory lead. My concern is that I've read that the cylinders are not heat treated and "hot" ammo should be avoided. True ? If so, what would be a good, lead bullet (semi wad cuter?) at what powder and charge weight. Can I try for 750 or 800 fps?

Thanks as I'm new to reloading and this forum.

Default Triple Lock shipped to NYC November 28, 1917

I'm like a proud parent, just don't want to "blow" it up or hurt this beauty in any way.
